What is the transmission oil pan magnet
When you drop the transmission oil pan down, you may notice a circular magnet attached to the oil pan.
As you can see from the picture, this magnet has caught a large amount of metal filings. If the transmission oil was replaced at regular intervals, then this many filings may indicate a mechanical problem with the transmission, and a part somewhere is being grinded away.
