Platinum spark plugs review

It seems that aftermarket manufacturers jumped on the "platinum" train without knowing much about good spark plug design. Do not listen to the BS these manufacturer are saying.

First, read my related article on a very poor Bosch "platinum" spark plug design.

Platinum spark plug review

The old plug on the right is an Autolite (AutoZone) "Platinum". On the left is a Bosch "Platinum".

Notice the difference in the gap. The old plug is only about a year old.

I now think that all of this "fine wire platinum" (the thin wire electrode) is marketing BS to save cost. DO NOT try to save money on spark plugs. You ideally want to never have to replace them again. Buy  a spark plug with a thick center electrode, and with three or four ground electrodes. Bosch +4 is one of the possibilities.
