Refurbished Hard Drives
Like I describe in my free report on choosing hard drives, do not buy refurbished hard drives, and return any that make clicking noises that you buy.
And be helpful. Hard drive manufacturers are supposed to completely reinspect and wipe hard drive returned to the store or refurbished. If you are returning a hard drive, help by putting a file like this on the hard drive. That's what I did:
NOTICE FROM FRIEND.txt
IF THIS HARD DRIVE MAKES A SINGLE LOUD CLICK WHEN CONNECTED OR DISCONNECTED FROM USB THEN IT HAS NOT BEEN REFURBUSHED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
NEVER TRUST A HARD DRIVE THAT MAKES CLICKING SOUNDS, AUDIBLE CLICKS, OR CONTANT CLICKING WHEN ACCESSING FILES (OR PLAYING VIDEO).
I HAVE LOST ENOUGH DATA WITH HARD DRIVES
YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED
<my email> IF YOU READ THIS NOTICE
