Match.com offers for outside contact, free members
If you are on Match.com, there are several things to be aware of.
Match.com is certainly better than free dating sites, because the fee keeps the trash away. However, it does have its own stupidities:
1) There are many (extent unknown) profiles of people who are not paid members. When someone signs up, they have a chance to create a profile before they are a paid member. They are under the restriction that they will get a notification that someone has sent them an email, but they will not be able to read the contents, or respond.
So be aware, that as with all dating sites, the number or "real" profiles is much less.
2) There seems to be some kind of short trial period, after which people can cancel and get their money back. If you are communicating with someone, and their profile gets deleted, STOP ALL COMMUNICATION WITH THAT MEMBER IMMEDIATELY. THEY CAN CLAIM ANYTHING, BUT IT DOES NOT COST TO KEEP A PROFILE UP ON MATCH.COM. IF SOMEONE DELETES THEIR PROFILE WHILE THEY HAVE JUST STARTED TALKING WITH YOU, THEY ARE A SPAMMER WHO HAVE REELED IN ENOUGH FISH IN THE TRIAL PERIOD, AND WILL NOW MILK THEM OUTSIDE THE MATCH.COM MESSAGING SYSTEM.
3) Not all members listed are paid members. A big portion are users who have created a profile, but have not paid the membership. You cannot differentiate between the two. They get just a notification that "someone" send them and email about "something" but they cannot read it or respond until after they pay the membership fee.
4) NEVER RESPOND TO OFFERS TO COMMUNICATE OUTSIDE OF MATCH.COM MESSAGING SYSTEM. DO NOT GET HOOKED BY GIRLS SAYING THEY CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE MEMBERSHIP FEE, OR THAT THEIR MEMBERSHIP IS ABOUT TO EXPIRE, OR THERE IS AN EMAIL ADDRESS RIGHT ON THEIR PROFILE THAT THEY WANT YOU TO CONTACT.
During my relative short period of membership, I have encountered the following:
a) A girl listed as a local address, good looking of course, after a few emails I found out she actually lived in Russia. She either wanted to marry someone in US or to have someone in US send her money. Did not get to find out which.
b) A girl saying she was on the three day trial (I am not aware of such a thing on Math.com), simply hot, very communicative. After a few emails turns out she is in Spain. After a few more emails, she is having trouble cashing checks from the lawyer, but oh, I am a good hearted guy why doesn't she mail those checks to me, and I wire her the money to Spain?
BOTH ACCOUNTS FROM YAHOO, OF COURSE, AND BOTH PROFILES BEING DELETED AS SOON AS THEY HOOK SOMEONE ON LIKE ME. NOTE: ON MATCH.COM NO ONE FORCES YOU TO DELETE YOUR PROFILE, NOT EVEN IF YOU NEVER PAY THEM THE MEMBERSHIP FEE. IF A GIRL DELETES HER PROFILE, IMMEDIATELY STOP ALL COMMUNICATION WITH HER, NO MATTER HOW GOOD SHE LOOKS AND SWEET SHE TALKS. SHE IS EITHER A PRETTY SCAM ARTIST, OR MORE LIKELY, A FAT GUY IN HIS THIRTIES IN HIS MOM'S BASEMENT.
