Last nail in the "Great China Wall from space" coffin
Google Maps is the final nail in the coffin of "The Great Wall of China being visible from space" coffin, for those who for some reason still believe the myth. Quite simply, no matter how much you zoom in it is extraordinarily to find such a thin feature on the earth. If you can't see it zoomed in many times, you won't even be able to see it from orbit. Features that are much more visible are cities -- and it is good excercise to be able to zoom in all the way down to your house from being zoomed out all the way.
