Where to purchase a mattress without flame retardants

Because some people are crazy enough to smoke in bed, there now is a federal law in USA to soak mattresses in flame retardants.

Flame retardants can cause a wide variety of health problems. However, most mattresses sold in US are covered by this law.

The only exemption is imported or foreign-made bedding items. For example, the Ikea store sells imported items which are not covered by this law, and are the easiest source for most US consumers to purchase mattresses without flame retardants.

In the US, federal law requires mattresses to contain flame retardants, which are bad for your health. However, other countries do not have such a law. Try a mattress from IKEA, which, since it is not manufactured in US, is not required to contain flame retardants.
