Can I self-refer to Physical Therapy in CT
The following article applies to Connecticut only:
In CT, you can self-refer to physical therapy, and a physical therapist can see you 6 times without a referral ("prescription" from a PCP to a specialist).
However, an insurance company may complain and not pay for this, so you should know your PCP well, who can write a note or prescription for a PT, knowing that you have a legitimate physical problem.
