The Voyage of the Space Beagle by A.E. van Vogt
The Voyage of the Space Beagle by A.E. van Vogt
This old book (1939!) should be read by every interstellar sci-fi lover, as well as all sci-fi authors to serve as an example. I wish modern sci-fi writers did not produce the junk that they do. How do I know it is junk? I have read this book, that's how!
Wonderful imagination. Short book length. Not one plot stretched to 500 pages. Several "stories" within a book... Modern sci-fi comes nowhere near.
Synopsis:
An interstellar mission spaceship encounters interesting places and creatures on their mission. Book is broken into a short-stories style with each story about a separate location or creature encountered.
