Patent It Yourself (Nolo) by David Pressman
Very nice and practical patents reference book, as are most books from the Nolo Press series. Should be used as a reference by everyone who has questions about patents.
Enough legalese explained (but not in the text body) so that you don't sink in the sea of legalese when reading patents, Office Actions, etc.
