Guesstimation by Lawrence Weinstein
Don't trust the over-hyped reviews of this book, and you'll do okay.
The subject of this book is the ability to correctly estimate answers to hard questions. Authors have developed methods to calculate answers where too few information is given.
Don't expect a secret trick you can utilize in your head in two seconds like some reviews will lead you to believe. Like other tools, these methods will take practice to be recognized and understood.
Good gift idea for a practical math person.
