Google AdSense censoring web page content
I had a page on this website that was merely linking to some Peer to Peer downloading websites. I was not suggesting a particular use of such websites, nor was I directly linking to any search results, torrents, or infringing content. I was also not hosting any torrents or magnet links.
However, I have received the following e-mail from Google AdSense:
"Google AdSense: Action required to comply with AdSense program policies.
This is a warning message to alert you that there is action required to bring your AdSense account into compliance with our AdSense program policies. We’ve provided additional details below, along with the actions to be taken on your part.

AdSense publishers may not display Google ads on webpages with content protected by copyright law unless they have the necessary legal rights to display that content. This includes sites that display copyrighted material, sites hosting copyrighted files, or sites that provide links driving traffic to sites that contain copyrighted material.
Examples of copyrighted content which may require legal rights in order to be displayed include, but are not limited to:
- Television shows, movies, and audio files
- Access to streaming cable or satellite television
- Books and/or e-books
- Video games
If you did not create the content yourself or if you created it using other peoples’ content as source material then you should ask yourself if you have a license or if an exception applies. For more information about potentially infringing content, please review our program policies and these tips from the policy team about avoiding copyright infringement.
Additionally, you can watch our short animated video & policy refreshers on this topic.
How to resolve:
- If you received a notification in regard to page content, we request that you immediately remove Google ads from the violating pages. If you are unable to, or unsure of how to remove the ads from these pages, or would like to continue monetizing the page with Google ads, please modify or remove the violating content to meet our AdSense policies.
- If you received a notification in regards to the way ads are implemented on your site, please make the necessary changes to your implementation.
You do not need to contact us if you make changes. Please be aware that if additional violations are accrued, ad serving may be disabled to the website listed above. You should immediately take time to review your pages with Google ads to ensure that they comply with our policies.
Additionally, please be aware that the URL above is just an example and that the same violations may exist on other pages of this website or other sites that you own. To reduce the likelihood of future warnings from us, we suggest that you review all your sites for compliance. Here are some useful resources you might be interested in.

This is blind and stupid (because it is obviously automated) censorship, as I was neither advocating nor providing any infringement. It appears that merely mentioning ideas such as Peer to Peer connections is now being banned by Google.
What is next, Google - you are going to start burning books because books may contain dangerous ideas?
Someone should sue Google for a right for Free Speech violation.
