How can I save Verizon voicemail?

Depending on the phone, you have two options:
Visual voicemail
and recording the voicemail using your phone's voice recorder.
If your phone has a button with a microphone icon on it (check side of phone), when playing a voicemail, press and hold the button (make sure that the screen is cleared with CLR button if it shows numbers you pressed. screen should display time counter) when playing back voicemail. Press and hold again when done. The recording has been saved on the phone.
Unfortunately, you CANNOT play these files on your computer. Verizon no longer converts these files to a playable format when you email them to yourself. The EVRC codec in the .qcp file cannot be played or converted.
However, there is a solution in having your cellphone provider convert these files for you. Text that sound file to your e-mail address, and your cellphone provider should convert the file to another format, and place it as an attachment to your email. Just text a media message to your email address.
