Starship Troopers as very good Sci-Fi
Starship Troopers, in my opinion, is one of best sci-fi examples. The movie trilogy themselves do not suffer from sequels becoming boring and without plot. There is great plot timing, and viewers are never bored. Characters are well-developed as well.
The movie series also portrays a very possible future of socialism. The only example people know of socialism is communism, which is a very mild form of socialism. For example, socialism proponents thought up that children would be raised by the collective, and people would belong to the collective in general, and would be required to do anything asked of them.
If the book series were written before the movies, then those books would probably be recommended reading as well.
