Gas can replacement cap

Gas can replacement cap

There is a multitude of different gas can designs available. This article is about the replacement cap for gas cans with the small yellow cap. You can just use a 15/16" x 11/16" rubber stopper from your local hardware store for a replacement in a jiffy.

Notice also that I have clearly labeled the gas can as containing 40:1 gas:oil mixture for a small two-cycle engine. This is good practice.

Also remember to not store the modern gasoline diluted with ethanol for an extended amount of time (more than a month), because it will absorb moisture from the air, and it will cause problems when used in the engine.

Do not ever pour leftovers of a small household gasoline car into the gas tank of a modern car. The gasoline will be dirty, may contain oil, and will contain moisture.
