My Kale normally takes a week to start. The Burpee 72-Cell Greenhouse Kit - Seed Starting kit had them sprout in 2 days. I was amazed. I would always do a mix of either miracle grow or Scott's but after I used the Burpee pellets, I will not go back. No offense but this article is someone who got frustrated because of poor conditions they used to start the seeds and transplant them. Never is there a difference in anything transplanted from any medium as far as removal from the starter, obviously you need to take extra care, not to damage the plant - and not that I ran into this issue but - so what if the material falls off the roots, that's why you drop the material in the hole. You need to do that anyway to minimize shock.
