How to control junk mail
By necessity, I had to subscribe to a number of professional but free catalogs and magazines. In case you did not know, that "free" comes not just from insane amount of advertisement, but also from free resale of your mailing information to anyone they can sell it to.
ONE was to control it is to make your name unique to see the spread of your private information from one company to another. You can have several different or modified first names.
TWO is to call the company and tell them to not distribute your information. You are the one who has to act.
THREE is to call any catalog/magazine provider that you do not need at all and ask to be taken off their mailing list. Save those trees.
FOUR you can make the post office and the company pay for it by writing something like "Acceptance denied, return to sender" on junk mail. Research this properly before you do it. The junk mail sender would have to pay for return postage.
