Blatant disregard for privacy

More and more online services are blatantly disregarding your personal privacy. A few examples:

For a free service (Hotmail), or as a required service in order for you to use a purchased product (Live for online multiplayer portion of your purchased game), Microsoft makes it seem like every bit of your private personal information is required in order for you to sign up:

After I have PAID FOR Cramster services, then discontinued the service, logged out, and tried to visit a website elsewhere, Cramster TRACKED ME thru advertising and nagged me about re-subscribing to their service:
