Modem or router not working or working intermittenly?

Troubleshooting: if your internet modem or router are working unreliably, intermittenly, or not at all, see if they are close to each other together in a rat's nest of wires and covered with dust. If they are, get them away from each other (certainly do not put them side by side or one on top of another). Get those wires uncoiled and organized. Cleanup the dust. See if it works.
