Display realtime notification of windows errors

If you wish to display realtime notification or alerts of windows errors, one simple and quick solution is as follows.

Launch Even Viewer.

Navigate to the specific section of Logs you wish to monitor. For example, choose Windows Logs>System.

On the Actions pane, choose "Attach a Task To this Log..."

Fill out the basics of the dialog which appears.

After finishing that, System Properties appears, where you can specify which kinds of events you wish to be notified of.

Then, in the Triggers tab, choose "Edit". Under "Custom", select "New Event Filter". You may wish to select Critical, Warning, and Error event types only.

Note: this kind of a notification is pretty basic. It appears as a small dialog box in the middle of the screen with a single "OK" button. If you wish to create a more advanced notification type (such as something in the taskbar, as a balloon in the taskbar, etc, etc) you will need to use the "start a program" type of notification instead.
