Notes on repairing websites

Here are some notes that I wanted to share:

1) I have free consultation and evaluation.

2) Ignore any online "fixes" using the RPL, find, and other commands. They can only harm your website.

3) DO NOT WORK before a full backup.

4) Computer anti-virus scanners like Avast! can easily tell you if the FTP download of your site is infected or not.

5) When I do a proper repair, backup and post-desinfection troubleshooting is what takes the bulk of my time.

6) Infection can propagate thru shared hosting. Any plan which does not followup with a change of all passwords, and securing of all vulerabilities and scripts is an invitation for a repeat infection.

7) You will not read this in online "how to do it yourself": expertise is required for a full backup, evaluation, analysis of infection, and manual repair over FTP.

8) And please please if you get me to work on your website, check your email often for progress updates. I do not like jobs that consist of infrequent lazy messages back and forth.
