If you get "communication error, connection lost", try restarting printer, software program, and at last resort, your computer. The error should clear. Generally, this is a DO NOT BUY item. It is very expensive, constantly throws errors or does not detect printer, etc, etc. After some use, it became less of a hassle to share the printer thru one of the computer (but that means that computer has to be on), or buying a network enabled printer instead.
