Repairing a torn and painted Audi leather seat

On the SAME Audi leather seat I had two problems: it was torn and it had house paint (which dried a long time ago).

I think I did an unnoticeable stitch job with a black thread. I also glued the completed seam with E-6000 to secure it and hide the stitches.

Note: with a straight (not curved) needle, this took me SEVERAL hours because I had to be VERY careful to not rip the leather any futher.

As far as the very dry acrylic paint, I spot tested a few suggestions from the internet, and stopped immediately as all suggestions removed the leather dye. I had tried rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits (thinner), and Goof Off. Rubbing alcohol seemed to be best at actually removing the paint, but it also made the leather white because dye was rubbed off. So I stopped without finishing the cleanup. Suggestion: DO NOT try dumb online suggestions. Either look around for a professional leather cleaner who will GUARANTEE that they will not damage the dye, or buy a good looking SEAT COVER.
