Poulan chainsaw replacement carburetor
If you have the following symptom - chainsaw not running on idle (only runs if trigger is slightly pressed, or on a rich mixture) it is the carburetor. Problem was a thorough dissasembly and cleaning did not solve that problem. So I decided to buy one.
eReplacementParts.com has the carburetor. Just make sure to click on "Lawn and Garden Parts" first, not in power tools section.
And buy the air intake gasket as well while at it. Also, look over the chainsaw and buy any other parts that you might need. Why? Because eReplacementParts is very slow and expensive on shipping (2 weeks and almost $10), so make sure you buy everything well before you need it. In particular, the oil and gas caps, the screw holding the red "run" switch, and chainsaw adjustment nuts are some easy to lose parts. Just include them in the order.
And yes, the new carburetor did solve the problem. I just don't know why thoroughly cleaning the old one did not fix the problem.
