Gila Window Film application

Q: How to I apply Gila window film?

A: When buying Gila window film, you must have the Application Solution as well. It's in a spray bottle, sometimes with some application tools and hardware. I believe it contains some kind of soapy solution, but I don't know what you can substitute for it.

If you attempt to apply the film to your glass without spraying on the Application Solution, the film will stick to the window and it will be very hard to remove. If you did, just try to peel it off while spraying the edge between the glass and film.

When properly applying the film, spray plenty of solution on the glass so that you will have plenty of time to stretch out the film. The solution temporarily deactivates glue on the back of film, allowing it to be positioned properly on the glass, and bubbles to be squeezed out.

Note: this film isn't very transparent. It is very good for small windows and special areas like the restroom window, but applying it to a bedroom window would not look appropriate.
