Title: Fixed!
So at first, I checked all the fuses and none were blown... then I looked up the fuse map in the manual, and fuse 29 (bottom of the second row) was completely missing... Put one in, and bingo, life is good. I had taken it to a shop, and I suspect they were trying to hose me by removing the fuse and saying all those components needed to be replaced.. Not sure if they were crooks or just incompetent... Regardless, I'm happy it runs good now.. Thanks for the find - this info wasn't on any of the Audi forums...
